Good Pecan Video of the Day: For the Fashionista in you!

Embrace fashion in your own way to match your own personality. It doesn't matter if someone else follows your trend or if you follow someone else's. The fact is Fashion always repeats itself throughout the years. What will make your style unique is the confidence you match it with; how you wear it, where you wear it, when you wear it. Get it? So do it.

Gossip lead singer Beth Ditto sat with Style.com and spoke about her life and love for fashion. Check it out.

Remember when Alicia Keys use to look like this?

The crazy thing is when she use to dress like this and wore her hair in braids, everyone followed that trend.

This is her on the set of her upcoming music video for her new song "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart"

Now she looks like this and she's still FABULOUS.

"Elegance is not the prerogative of those who have just escaped from adolescence, but of those who have already taken possession of their future."

When I seen this picture of the Olsen Twins I thought about this quote from Coco Chanel. At a glance of their outfits, anyone would say that look is a little bit too old, but I took my time and what I saw was young adults embracing this style and making it really look comfortable. It made me think about Coco. She was always into making clothes that was comfortable to wear.

But anyways, I love the Olsen Twins style, whether they are too skinny and look tired all the time, they usually have on a fantastic pair of shoes or sunglasses you would love to have. These girls are still successful and most designers love to have them front row at their fashion shows. News is that they are coming out with a junior line for JCPenny real soon. Which is good for JCPenny, but I think they should do a collection for Urban Outfitters or a collaboration with Opening Ceremony.

But this is my opinion :)

Nicki Minaj ! for a Good Pecan video of the day

A lot of people are suprise when I sing a whole verse from a Lil Kim song. You know how she use to do back in the day, "N***as, betta grab a seat, grab on ya d**k as this b**ch get deep, deeper than a p**sy of a b**ch 6 feet, stiff d**ks feel sweet in this little petite." That's those Junior Mafia days when Kim wasnt playin no games!!!! I was young but I knew all the words even though I didnt know what the hell I was sayin. Today, I'll sing a song from her, and know what I'm saying, and love her verse even more. People may call her a whore, but the thing is she made it easy for women to be free and let a man know how she wants it and when.

& as for Nicki..
People compare her to a young LiL Kim and I agree, BUT! she has her own "swagger" or style to her music. When she raps I feel like she does it to intimidate men as well as women. She's a FOX and she's from QUEENS, NY. Shoutout! Today's Good Pecan video is "5 star chick" by Yo Gotti feat. Gucci Mane, Trina, and Nicki Minaj.

Mark Ronson for Gucci

Celebrity DJ Mark Ronson has teamed up with Gucci to put a set of limited edition kicks for the Gucci Icon-Temporary line. They will be sold in pop-up stores in Miami, SOHO, London, Berlin and Tokyo. The line includes boat shoes and some high top sneakers. People who purchase this also have the choice to initial their pair. The New York store will open on October 24th and will only be here for two weeks.

My opinion: They don't look so appealing but hey, they might to someone else. I think Sperry's are better.

Highlights of my faves from fashion week.

Ok so I know I am little late with this but I
have been so busy with LIFE! and so have you, I hope.
I must must MUST say that these designers I posted did
phenomenal on the Spring 2010 collections. I picked the
ones whom I really really liked. (Yes, of course Betsey
Johnson is one of them LoL). Remember these are only highlights,
these are not the whole collection.

Isaac Mizrahi. His production was called "Obstacle Course" (in French) and there was a rain machine to make it look like it was raining on the runway and the models were escorted out with umbrellas. The inspiration for this collection was FRED ASTAIRE. I love the silk chiffon, the ruffles, and the beautiful black and white pieces in this collection.

THAKOON(Panichgul)This collection involves lots of prints and loose dresses and tops. You'll see some Kimona sleeves as well as "Ninja" looking pants.

Christian Siriano. I wasn't shocked by his work I was in awe. I knew he was going to give an amazing collection. His color theme resembled the sky, the colors of the sunrise and sunset. He always had a unique way of pleating and draping.

Rebecca Minkoff. This is her sophmore clothing collection and I think she did a much better job from the first time. She kept the "sexy rocker chic" look but added more color and prints.

Betsey Johnson. Whimsical and powerful as usual! but much more sexy and wonderful silhouettes. Her collection is titled "Betsey's One Night Stand".

Marc by Marc Jacobs. A very bright collection. Marc included alot of prints in this collection. He had African-Tribal prints, polka dots, striped, plaid, and lots of color giving the collection a young and lively look.

Whats up with the bunny bow? Very cute.

Looks like the 2010 is going to be lots
of bold colors, prints, silk and chiffon.

Purple Diary Entry 14: Feeling some type of way

Hey Loyal readers,

I'm feeling some type of way.
Well, I'm feeling many types of ways
and the only way I feel comfortable
expressing these ways is through writing.

I feel like I'm losing some things.
Things like real love, real friendships
real PEOPLE. I wonder why I can't seem
to see the real in anything anymore. Is it
because I am not real myself? I refuse to
believe that. But, if indeed that is the case
then I'm going to need a reality check.

I feel like running in a straight line
all the way down to the end. The end of
SUCCESS. Then I want to just dwell in
that moment forever.

I feel like having my own sunshine.
So that when my skies are gray I can
always just place it in the sky.

I feel. I feel. I feel.
Realization: Not everybody I come across
or even ones who I've known are going to
be real with me.

I have to hit a few bumps and make a
couple of left & right turns before
I reach SUCCESS.

I can't always have bright days.

So all together I feel like WHAT THE F%#k.

Even though I'm at a grown age, I'm still growing.
Bare with me.
